GALEN SECURITY / APPLICATION SECURITY AUDIT

Review the whole application.
Follow the risk across it.

Purpose-built for web applications, Galen Security maps how code, APIs, permissions, and sensitive workflows connect. Review vulnerabilities and departures from approved access rules with evidence of the affected path and missing protection.

Available now: Galen Policy Beta and Managed Galen Security Audits. Self-service Galen Security is coming soon.

WHAT THE AUDIT COVERS

Security depends on how the pieces connect.

A secure login does not protect an export that skips a role check. Review how identity, data, and actions move through the application.

01

Identity and access

Review authentication, authorization, ownership, and tenant boundaries across routes, handlers, and privileged actions.

02

Code and API paths

Follow a request from its entry point to the operation it triggers, including the guards and data transformations along the way.

03

Sensitive data flows

Examine where protected data is read, changed, serialized, or returned, and whether the intended access limits hold.

04

Business-critical workflows

Focus review on billing, exports, invitations, account changes, administrative actions, and other high-impact paths.

05

Application boundaries

Understand how handlers, background work, integrations, and shared services rely on each other to enforce a security rule.

06

Release and fix review

Review the release against established access rules and re-evaluate corrections against the original finding. Retained application relationships and the approved baseline remain the reference for later checks.

A FINDING IN CONTEXT

A working export with the wrong access.

A customer export works correctly in the interface, but its backend route checks sign-in without enforcing the administrator role.

Illustrative scenario, not a live scan or actual customer finding.

FOLLOW THE PATH

  1. 01Signed-in user
  2. 02Export endpoint
  3. 03Customer records

What makes it risky

A user who can reach the endpoint may access an export intended only for administrators.

What to change and recheck

Enforce the required role at the backend entry point, then recheck the route and any other paths to the export.

FROM FINDING TO CORRECTION

Give your team
something it can act on.

Review the evidence, make a focused correction, and check the result against the original risk.

  • Findings connected to the affected application paths and controls.
  • Data-flow and permission evidence that explains the risk.
  • Remediation direction for the code and workflow involved.
  • Validation status after the corrected version is reviewed.

A FEW PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

Plan the review.

How is this different from a code-only review?

The scope follows web application behavior across code, endpoints, access boundaries, and sensitive workflows. Galen retains those relationships in an application map. Where your team has approved an access baseline, the audit can also identify new grants, removed guards, and widened exposure against that intent.

Can our team run the audit?

Yes. Galen Security is designed for audits your team runs. Choose a Managed Security Audit when you want Telhawk to scope and lead the engagement.

What determines the review scope?

The application, supported stack, available source and system context, high-risk workflows, and the release or business decision you need to support. A managed engagement agrees these boundaries before review begins.
