SOLUTIONS / SECURITY ENGINEERS

Investigate the path.
Hand off the evidence.

A security finding should move the investigation forward. Galen gives you code-backed context for understanding the weakness, explaining the fix, and checking the changed implementation.

Available now: Galen Policy Beta and Managed Galen Security Audits. Self-service Galen Security is coming soon.

Deterministic analysis. Inspectable evidence. Your team’s decisions.

INTENDED BOUNDARY

Request input must remain separate from executable query text.

The issue to investigate

The route requires login, but concatenates request input into SQL.

Authentication limits the caller; it does not make the request value safe for SQL construction.

Conceptual example, not live Galen output. Recheck the actual implementation after a correction.

WHAT IS AT STAKE

The alert is often where your work begins.

Before you can assign a correction, you may have to trace a request across handlers and helpers, establish who controls the input, and determine whether an earlier guard already blocks the path. Without that context, a real issue and a convincing false alarm can look much the same.

Then comes the handoff. A developer needs more than “fix authorization,” and a patch that adds a check in the wrong place can return the issue to your queue. Galen keeps the path, relevant controls, and security consequence connected so the investigation survives the handoff.

Precision
Examine the control that matters to the claim.
Handoff
Give developers a correction objective they can use.
Closure
Check the original issue on the revised code.

GO DEEPER WITH AN AUDIT

Inspect why the finding follows from the code.

Galen Security uses deterministic analysis of application facts to relate reachable paths, value flows, and controls. It checks the derivation behind an emitted finding and preserves supporting evidence. AI can explain the bounded result and help with remediation; the model’s confidence does not establish the finding.

This helps limit unsupported alerts caused by an unreachable operation, an unrelated guard, or a mistaken assumption about the input. Evidence gaps remain visible. You can distinguish a supported source conclusion from a runtime condition or business assumption that still needs investigation.

CHECK WHILE YOU BUILD

Keep known boundaries from regressing.

Galen Policy brings supported checks into development so engineers can address findings before the next audit handoff. Developers or coding agents run the standalone tool in the repository and use the returned evidence to guide a correction.

For access behavior, review and approve the baseline with the application owner. Later changes can surface as new grants, dropped guards, wider exposure, or ungoverned writes. That gives your team a specific change to investigate rather than another request to re-infer the intended permission model.

WHERE TO FOCUS

Give the next reviewer the facts that change the answer.

Boundary or decisionWhat needs attentionEvidence to inspect
Input controlDoes an attacker influence the value at the sensitive operation? The origin, transformations, and use of that value.
AuthorizationDoes the relevant guard govern this path and resource? The actor, selected object, and applicable restriction.
RemediationDoes the submitted patch address the original cause? The changed path checked against the original security claim.

A PRACTICAL STARTING POINT

Move from investigation to a checked correction.

  1. 01

    Establish the claim.

Identify the path, boundary, consequence, and any missing evidence.

  2. 02

    Focus the handoff.

Give the developer or agent the affected code and the correction objective.

  3. 03

    Return to the path.

Re-analyze the changed version and retain the validation outcome.

BUILD WITH BETTER EVIDENCE

Make the next finding easier to act on.
