GALEN SECURITY / CODE SECURITY AUDIT

Look beyond working code.
Find the unsafe path.

Review human-written and AI-generated web application code for injection, missing access checks, and sensitive data exposure. Galen’s retained code facts and repeatable analysis connect findings to the paths and controls your team needs to inspect.

Available now: Galen Policy Beta and Managed Galen Security Audits. Self-service Galen Security is coming soon.

WHAT THE AUDIT COVERS

Follow the code to what it can do.

A file-by-file reading can miss a weakness that spans several handlers or shared helpers. Galen connects the input, operation, data flow, and controls behind a finding.

01

Authorization and ownership

Find paths where sign-in is checked but role, record ownership, or tenant restrictions are missing or inconsistent.

02

Injection and unsafe input

Trace external input toward database queries, shell commands, file paths, templates, and other sensitive operations.

03

Data exposure

Examine response shapes and serialization paths that can expose private fields or return more data than intended.

04

Shared logic and call paths

Use the application map to connect routes, handlers, and helpers. Establish whether the expected protection governs the sensitive operation, including paths that span multiple files.

05

AI-generated changes

Review generated routes and refactors for missing guards, unsafe query construction, broader permissions, and repeated insecure logic.

06

Correction evidence

Use the affected path and missing control to guide the repair, then review the corrected code to check the result.

A FINDING IN CONTEXT

A search feature that changes the query.

A generated search handler inserts request input directly into SQL text. The feature works for normal searches, but the input can change the query itself.

Illustrative scenario, not a live scan or actual customer finding.

FOLLOW THE PATH

  1. 01Search input
  2. 02SQL string
  3. 03Database execution

What makes it risky

Request-controlled text reaches an executable query without being kept separate from SQL syntax.

What to change and recheck

Use a parameterized query and review how the filter is constructed. Re-run the audit against the updated data path.

AI CODE SECURITY / INCLUDED IN CODE REVIEW

The same review. Whatever wrote the code.

AI-generated code belongs in the same security review as the rest of your application. The important question is what the code allows, which data it exposes, and which controls it enforces.

Check the generated endpoint

A login check can be present while record ownership or an administrator guard is missing.

Follow the copied pattern

An unsafe query or overbroad response may be reused across several handlers. Review the connected paths.

Review the generated fix

Recheck the patch against the original finding and relevant application relationships. Use the retained evidence and approved access baseline rather than relying on what the coding assistant remembers.

FROM FINDING TO CORRECTION

Give your team
something it can act on.

Review the evidence, make a focused correction, and check the result against the original risk.

  • Affected files and code-path references for the finding.
  • Relevant input, data-flow, guard, and operation evidence.
  • Remediation guidance suited to the application context.
  • A recheck of submitted corrections with validation status.

A FEW PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

Plan the review.

Is AI-generated code a separate audit?

No. This code audit includes human-written, AI-generated, and AI-modified code. We review the resulting application behavior, regardless of which tool or person wrote it.

How does this differ from Galen Policy?

Policy is a command-line check in the development loop, including changes against approved access rules. Galen Security supports a deeper audit of a codebase, release, or defined security concern with findings, remediation guidance, and validation.

Which languages and frameworks can be reviewed?

Coverage varies by language, framework, and analysis capability. Discuss your stack with Telhawk to confirm coverage and review depth for your project.
